Notes on Installation

 

1        Operating System and Hardware Requirements

 

·      Microsoft Windows 2000 Service Pack 3 or later, Windows XP Home, or Windows XP Professional.

·      A personal computer (PC) capable of running one of the above operating systems, refer to Microsoft specifications for more information.

 

·      Microsoft Excel 2000 (9.0.2720) or greater.

 

 

2        Operating Environment

 

To be able to work with NPC_Score  software under Windows 2000/XP Professional, you must have logged on with at least power user privileges.

 

 

The NPC_Score   program has been tested under the following operating system versions:

 

·            Windows 2000 with SP3

·            Windows XP Home

·            Windows XP Professional

 

 

3            Installation

 

1.       Copy from the Email the attachment to a folder named NPC_2004.

2.       Open NPC_Score.xls into Excel.

3.       Answer “Enable Macros” if asked.

4.       Each time opened it will ask for a password, enter “NPCTN” as the password for each place.

5.       All data can be entered before “Registering”.

6.       No sheets will be generated until the Registration Process is complete.

7.       To register press the “Register Button”

8.       Note the Serial Number and email to webmaster@npctn.com.

9.       When the returned email is received, enter the number into the Product Activation Code windows and press “Ok”.

10.   After the Product Activation Code is entered, you are ready to use.

11.   The “General Sheet” is used to log ALL data used.

12.   As an example the fields have sample for each class.

13.   Change “B1” to match the name of your show.

14.   Change “B2” to match the date of your show.

15.   Change “B3” to match the Location of your show.

16.   Change “B4” to match the number of judges of your show.

17.   All Classes must start at the “B5” (i.e. “Teenage”) and continue horizontal.

18.   When “Generate Class Sheets” is clicked, all contestants will be assigned a number and each class will generate 3 additional sheets.

19.   First generated is the individual judge’s sheet, second is the tally sheet, and third is the music or expeditor sheet.

20.   Print All Sheets starting with “M “and call each class down and assign the designated number.

21.   Print each individual judge’s sheet or have judges fill out manually.

22.   The Tally sheet is used to calculate the scores of ALL judges.

23.   As each class is judged, have each judge pass into the tabulator.

24.   Once all judges’ scores are entered click the “Verify Results” button to verify no duplicate numbers and calculate for “ties”.

25.   An additional sheet is then generated starting with “F T class name” with contestants name, number and placing.

26.   Print ALL Sheets starting with “F T” and give to the head judge.

27.   Overall Figure winners will be calculated manually, but the sheets can be used to calculate each round.

28.   Since the figure has two rounds, place the figure at the far left.

29.   After clicking the “Generate Class Sheets”, manually change the Round #2 sheets numbers to match round #1.

 

 

 

Notes on Usage

This program will assign numbers, generate judge’s sheets, generate a music/expeditor sheet, a tally sheet and generate a final sheet with the all placing.

 

The user should activate this program prior to the day of competition.

 

The preferred activation method is to email the serial number to webmaster@npctn.com.

 

Since, the figure has 2 rounds; the overall will have to be calculated manually.
