HOW TO BECOME A NPC JUDGE
The Tennessee NPC always welcomes individuals in becoming an official judge. The process is composed of two parts, a practical test and a written test. The practical evaluates an individual’s ability to evaluate and score athletes. The written test evaluates an individual’s knowledge of NPC rules and regulations.
You may test judge at any sanctioned contest in Tennessee. You must test judge 3 contests of which one must be the Tennessee State Championships. To pass the practical portion you must score a minimum of 85 percent relative to the official judges’ scores of the 3 contests.
After passing the practical portion you may arrange to take the written test at one of the contests. The exam covers NPC rules and regulations. You must score a minimum of 85 percent on the written test. After successfully completing both the practical and written test you are officially qualified to judge.
If you are interested you may start the process by contacting Roger McConnell, State Chairmen or Charlie Etherton, Vice Chairman and Judging Coordinator to have an information packet sent to you. To arrange to test judge please Charlie Etherton for dates and times.
